Diamond Buyers Guide

The Four C`s

Diamonds are Graded according to four criteria.
Carat is weight of the stone. One Carat=0.2 Gram or 200 milligrammes.
Point is one hundredth of a Carat
Colour is actually a measure of the molecular impurities in the stone
From D (Clear) to Z (Yellow).
Clarity is a measure of the internal structure of the stone.
From IF (a Perfect stone) to I3 (obvious Imperfections).
Cut refers to the shape that the stone is cut into. The Cut is a pattern designed to maximize the internal reflections. Thus Cut refers to the shape and how closely the stone matches the shape pattern.

Certificate is the value of the stone as determined by a qualified diamond valuer. The value of the diamond can fluctuate as diamond values fluctuate in world markets but a diamond with a certificate will be worth more than an uncertified diamond.
